Here we provide a small guide: How to start, stop or re-start a breathing.
First of all you must keep in mind that you can use the Breathe+ application to help you relax and focus on your breathing. This is it's main (and only) purpose.
The app guides you through a series of deep breaths. In the future, with the upcoming updates, we will add auto-reminders for you inside the app, in order to take your time to breathe every day. Until then, the app is autolaunched only when you want.
How to start a breathe session.
Open the app.
A welcome message appears.
Set the session's length as you wish. A default value is: '1 minute' session, but you may increase it from the drop-down menu!
Click on the blue button "Start Breathing" to start. Please, remember to stay still while you breathe.
Breathe+ [Welcome Page]. Set the duration and Click on the blue button to start a new session.
Inhale as the animation grows and exhale as the animation shrinks and the taps stop.
Breathe until the session ends. There is also a progress indicator just to track the remaining time. When you're done, the welcome screen appears again!
Remember to focus on the animation!
Breathe+ [Breathing Window]. .. an example
When the breathing session runs, the app has a progress indicator and two time values: The time elapsed since the session started and the remaining time.
If you change your mind and you want to stop the breathing session, just click on the blue button "Stop Breathing.." and the session will close.
On the above example screenshot, the session has a 20% progress, it has started 12 seconds ago and the remaining time is 47 seconds.
Breathing exercises !
Is it good ? And how long should last .. ?
Many people may wonder about how long a "good" breathing session must last.
Well, there is no perfect answer for this. It depends on the person. Everyone is unique. Something that works for one guy, may not have the same results for the other.
Our advice on this, is that the length of the breathe exercise depends on the daily activity for each one. People who work under pressure and stress, that produces a lot of anxienty, will find a breathing exercise pretty useful.
From our own personal experience, we have found that a 1-minute session that is repeated twice daily, helps us to calm down from our work and to focus better in what we are doing.
So, in order to find what is better for you, you must try and feel the results.
There is also something that we must mention here:
If you search around the web, you will find many info about how good a breathing session is for everyone. Almost all health institutions have public dedicated articles about that. A breathing exercise helps a person to relax from anxienty. This is a general rule.
To our surprise we have also found a few articles around that suggest to not do breathing exercises! But only a few.
So, a good idea is to try for yourself. If breathing is something that help you remaining calm then go for it. Otherwise, forget it !
We have already mention some of the Breathing Options you have for your Breathing sessions.
